For example, if you want to make a wear block, jig or fixture, the first material you will consider is NYLON 6 board. It comes in a ton of off-the-shelf sizes and can even go up to 100 mm thick, but can be made thicker if desired. If you do choose a nylon 6 board or block, you'll find it easy to machine with the right tools. This doesn't mean leaving some dull knives of previous metal work on the machine, but a nice sharp, well-shaped smooth type tool that, with the addition of coolant, will help your nylon 6 plate machine very much it is good.
